PAIMI Advisory Council
Scholarships to Alternatives 2008

On behalf of the Advocacy Center for Persons with Disabilities, Inc., the Advocacy Center’s PAIMI Advisory Council (PAC) is pleased to announce the availability of 6-8 scholarships to Alternatives 2008.

The annual Alternatives Conference offers in-depth training and technical assistance about services delivered by individuals with psychiatric disabilities, as well as self-help and recovery methods.  The conference also offers a forum for individuals across the nation to meet and exchange information and ideas.  This year’s conference will take place in Buffalo, New York, October 29 through November 2, 2008.  For info, see: http://www.power2u.org/alternatives-2008/ .

Scholarship applications are due on August 15, 2008.  Please help us get the word out as widely as possible and as quickly as possible by forwarding this email to any interested parties.  Instructions for submission are on the form itself.  The Advocacy Center’s policy on scholarships is also enclosed.  A committee of members of the PAC and staff of the Advocacy Center will select the recipients.

Because it is a tight budget year, we reduced the number of scholarships.  In awarding the scholarships, we hope to award at least one scholarship per DCF region in an effort to support local initiatives related to recovery, resiliency and transformation of the public mental health service delivery system.

If you choose to return the form electronically, please save it as your last name and then send to me.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.  Thank you for your interest and assistance.
